Voting to commence for BVA Council elections
Voting
“I encourage members in Scotland, the South-West and North-West to vote.”

Vote now for regional representatives

The British Veterinary Association have announced that they will be holding online elections to fill three vacancies on BVA Council from January 19.

BVA members can vote for their regional representatives in Scotland and the South-West and North-West regions. In the East of England and the South-East, the current post-holders will be elected unopposed for a second term.

Regional representatives gather and represent the view of their fellow members as part of the BVA's policy-making process.

BVA's president John Blackwell said: "As the overarching policy-making body the success of BVA Council depends in large part on the excellent work of our regional representatives who collate their colleagues’ views. They ensure that every BVA member can feed in their views and ideas on the key animal welfare topics and issues affecting the profession.

“I encourage members in Scotland, the South-West and North-West to vote.”

The election process will be run by the Electoral Reform Services on behalf of BVA and all members within a region will be elible to vote.

In addition to the BVA Council Elections, the RCVS has announced that nominations are open for the 2015 RCVS Council and RCVS VN Council elections.

Candidate information, detailed guidance notes and nomination forms are available to download from http://www.rcvs.org.uk/about-us/vn-council/vn-council-elections/nominations-2015/ (VN Council) and http://www.rcvs.org.uk/about-us/rcvs-council/council-elections/nominations-2015/ (RCVS Council).
