College thanks outgoing registrar for his work

The RCVS has revealed that its registrar of 16 years, Gordon Hockey, has decided to leave the organisation.

Mr Hockey initially served as assistant registrar/head of professional conduct until 2012, when he became registrar/director of legal services.

Commenting on his departure, RCVS president Dr Bradley Viner, said: "We wish to thank Gordon for all his hard work and wish him every success in the future.

"He has been a key figure at the RCVS for many years, and has brought about much positive change in the organisation, particularly with respect to reform of our disciplinary processes and the introduction of our new Charter, in February 2015."

New form for online veterinary medicines retailers

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has produced a new online form for retailers wishing to sell veterinary medicines on the internet.

The form replace the previous Word version and is part of the VMD's ongoing commitment to digitise its processes. Anyone retailing prescription medicines online, including POM-V, POM-VPS and NFA-VPS categories, is lawfully required to register with the VMD before trading.

The change only applies to new applicants. Retailers already listed on the VMD's Register of Online Retailers or registered under the Accredited Internet Retailer Scheme (AIRS) do not need to do anything.
