Report includes the audited accounts and financial statements for 2020.
Members of the profession are being invited to submit questions on the RCVS Annual Report published ahead of the College's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July.
The RCVS Annual Report and Financial Statements 2020 presents the financial statements of the College for the year ending 31 December 2020.
It also provides an overview of the College’s activities throughout the year, including how it delivered on the ambitions of the 2020-24 Strategic Plan and the challenges presented by COVID-19.
In a joint statement, RCVS president Mandidsa Greene and CEO Lizzie Lockett discuss the new plan and the unexpected difficulties posed by the pandemic:
“Despite the extra workload of the pandemic, and activities relating to EU Exit, we have actually delivered on many of the actions that we set out in the Strategic Plan. In some cases, such as the Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP), it not only made no sense to postpone these plans because, in a year in which education had been disrupted, our new vets may need this additional support, we actually brought our plans forward.
“Though there’s not much of a silver lining to be drawn from a global pandemic, it has also provided opportunities to do things differently and some of these changes have been positive and may be maintained, for example, virtual meetings have been inclusive and reduced our environmental impact, while virtual registrations for overseas graduates have been more effective for all concerned.”
The publication also includes the audited accounts and financial statements for 2020, further information about RCVS Knowledge and the College’s financial policies.
The report comes ahead of its formal adoption at the virtual RCVS AGM on Friday, 9 July 2021, where questions will be put to a member of the RCVS Officer Team during the meeting.
Members of the profession wishing to submit a question should email Deborah Rowlanes, RCVS events manager, at d.rowlanes@rcvs.org.uk by 5pm on Friday 2 July 2021.
