RCVS Knowledge seeking Trustees
RCVS Knowledge is seeking volunteers for two new Trustees to fill the positions of 'digital and communications Trustee' and 'lay Trustee (finance)'.
The charity, which seeks to improve and further the quality of veterinary care, is seeking the new Trustees to expand upon its skillset, and grow existing skills in a time of growth.
Governed at present by a board of 11 Trustees, the charity is seeking a digital and communications Trustee to support the development and implementation of an integrated strategic digital and communications plan to advance the organisation's brand identity.
Also being sought is a lay Trustee (finance) who will support the treasurer in the overall management of the charity's financial resources. Both positions are unpaid, but RCVS Knowledge offers to pay all reasonable expenses.
The role description for the digital and communications Trustee position includes responsibilities such as, highlighting and translating the opportunities and risks of digital and communications, championing the use of data in board discussions, and helping to ensure that the executive and operations teams have the digital capabilities that they require, among other duties. A full description of the role is available to read here.
Additionally, the lay Trustee (finance) role will include responsibilities of supporting the treasurer to ensure the charity's financial health, ensuring that the organisation's finances are responsibly managed, and advising on the financial risk-management process, among others. A full description of the role is available to read here.
Executive director at RCVS Knowledge, Chris Gush, commented on the available positions: “This is a great opportunity to join the RCVS Knowledge Board of Trustees and help us develop and champion the advancement of veterinary care.
“We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to contribute to the governance of the charity, focusing on finance, digital and communications. There is no need to have previous trustee experience, as training and support will be provided.”
Applications are now open and will close on Monday, 9 August 2021. More information on the posts and how to apply is available to read at knowledge.rcvs.org.uk
