Senior cat adoption falls, survey says
Older cats take three times longer than younger cats to be rehomed.
Senior cat adoption by new cat owners has dropped by eight per cent since last year, according to a new survey.
Cats Protection highlighted the figure as part of Mature Moggies Day. Older cats take over three times longer than younger cats to be rehomed.
Cats Protection behaviour manager Nicky Trevorrow said: “By adopting a mature moggy, you’ll be giving them a second chance at happiness in their twilight years as well as freeing up space in adoption centres so we can help even more cats.”

Two independent vets have launched a podcast to help owners strengthen their bond with pets. Dr Maggie Roberts and Dr Vanessa Howie, who have worked in both veterinary practice and major charities, are keen to use their experience to enable people to give pets a better life.
