London Vet Show unveils Association Content
Julie Gibson, Alison Skipper and Hamish Morrin will ask 'Is the vet-client-patient relationship broken?'
Organisations from across the sector have curated CPD content.

London Vet Show has announced a selection of Association Content, created in collaboration with associations from across the veterinary sector.

Organisations including the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA), the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) and the British Veterinary Behaviour Association (BVBA) have contributed specialised CPD sessions for delegates.

These collaborations have enabled London Vet Show to provide sessions offering CPD content on a range of veterinary topics. This includes training in anaesthesia & pain management, emergency & critical care, dentistry & diagnostic and behaviour.

In addition, organisations have contributed expert-led sessions on practice management topics, such as leadership and business strategy.

These sessions join London Vet Show’s growing programme, which features Negotiating your worth – effective salary and contract negotiation strategies. This discussion will be held in the BVA Career Development area on Thursday, 20 November 2025.

Speakers at the session will include SPVS chair Vicki Farbon, farm vet Paul Horwood and Alice Barker, who is the founder of ThisVetCan – a personal finance resource specifically for veterinary surgeons.

Meanwhile, a session on Friday, 21 November will ask: Is the vet-client-patient relationship broken? The topic will be explored by Julie Gibson, Knowledge quality improvement clinical lead at RCVS; Alison Skipper, veterinary and research advisor for The Kennel Club; and Hamish Morrin, lecturer in clinical communication skills at the University of Lancashire’s School of Veterinary Medicine.

This year’s London Vet Show will take place at ExCeL London from 20-21 November 2025.

The conference’s programme is set to offer world-class CPD opportunities, over 450 speakers, and over 400 suppliers hosting stands. There will be a range of features which are new to London Vet Show, as well as familiar favourites.

Delegates will be able to explore a variety of topics, including small animal medicine, large animal medicine, exotics, farm and equine care, practice management, veterinary nursing and groundbreaking industry innovations.

Equine Disease Surveillance report released for Q4 2025

 The latest Equine Disease Surveillance report has been released, with details on equine disease from Q4 of 2025.

The report, produced by Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance, includes advice on rule changes for equine influenza vaccination.

Statistics and maps detail recent outbreaks of equine herpes virus, equine influenza, equine strangles and equine grass sickness. A series of laboratory reports provides data on virology, bacteriology, parasitology and toxicosis.

This issue also features a case study of orthoflavivus-associated neurological disease in a horse in the UK.

NSA webinar explores sheep tailing and castration

The National Sheep Association (NSA) is to host a free webinar on the castration and tail docking of lambs.

The webinar, 'Understanding the tailing and castration consultation: A guide for sheep farmers', will be hosted online on Monday, 2 March 2026 at 7.30pm.

It comes during a government consultation into the methods used for these procedures. Farmers are encouraged to engage before the consultation period closes on Monday, 9 March 2026.

The webinar offers clear and actionable guidance to support farmers to contribute meaningfully to the consultation and prepare for potential changes.

On the panel will be former SVS president Kate Hovers, farmer and vet Ann Van Eetvelt and SRUC professor in Animal Health and Veterinary Sciences Cathy Dwyer. Each panel member will utilise their own specialism and expertise to evaluate risks and outcomes to sheep farming.
