Finalists for Dogs Trust Honours Announced
Jasmine with her devoted dog Treacle who has been nominated for the Dogged Devotion Award. Jasmine is currently waiting for a kidney transplant and has dialysis every night and is also tube fed during the night. Treacle is a friend and companion for Jasmine and helps her through her treatment.
Dogs Trust has announced its four-legged Finalists for the 2010 Dogs Trust Honours – the doggy version of the Pride of Britain awards.

16 devoted dogs have been shortlisted from over 300 nominations received from across the UK. The amazing stories include a dog who helps her seven year old owner get through her daily dialysis treatment, a doggy star of the West End stage and a fundraising pooch who has raised £32,000 for charity through asking members of the public to ‘Pay for a Pat’.
 
Dogs Trust Chief Executive, Clarissa Baldwin, comments: “British dog lovers have been truly amazing in nominating man’s best friend for the 2010 Dogs Trust Honours. All sorts of canines are represented and all have truly wonderful stories – the judging panel and I will have a hard job choosing our winners. The awards ceremony is set to be a memorable and emotional evening which will touch even the hardest of hearts. We are providing tissues for all the guests!”

RUMA CA&E extends survey deadline

 RUMA CA&E has extended the deadline for its online survey into vaccine availability.

Vets, SQPs, retailers and wholesalers will now have until Friday, 26 September at 5pm to submit their response.

The survey aims to further understanding into the vaccine supply challenges faced by the sector. It will also consider the short and long term impacts of disruption issues.

Insights are anonymous, and will be shared with industry stakeholders and government bodies.

Dechra launches checklist for veterinary sustainability

Global animal health specialist Dechra has announced the world's first Veterinary Green Theatre Checklist (VGTC) to help make surgery more sustainable.

Endorsed by leading veterinary organisations, including the BEVA, BVNA and RCVS Knowledge, the checklist is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of veterinary care, while supporting better animal health outcomes.

The checklist was launched at the World Congress of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia in Paris and will be followed by an internal training and awareness campaign. For more information, visit dechra.com
