‘Healthy’ Discussion About Dogs
The Kennel Club, along with the Pet Food Manufacturer’s Association, is inviting dog breeders, experts and enthusiasts to come together at the Breeders’ Symposium 2010 to discuss topical issues and how advances in science could transform the future for healthy, happy dogs.

The theme for this year’s event will be ‘Breeding for Health’, a topic that reflects the Kennel Club’s commitment to putting dog health at the top of the agenda and should also be of considerable interest to breeders.

Anybody who has an interest in dogs is invited to attend the Symposium, which will include discussions on various health & breeding topics. The discussions will be hosted by experts in their field and each presentation will be followed by an open question and answer session.

The event is being held from 9.30am on Sunday 28th November at the Royal Veterinary College in North Mymms, Hertfordshire.

The Breeders’ Symposium costs £32.50 per person which includes morning refreshments, a buffet lunch and a delegate pack. To obtain a booking form, please contact Yohann Dieul, Health & Breeder Assistant, on 020 7518 6870 or email yohann.dieul@thekennelclub.org.uk.

RCVS annual renewal fee for vets due

RCVS' annual renewal fee for veterinary surgeons is now due. Vets must pay their renewal fee before Wednesday, 1 April 2026.

This year's standard annual fee has increased to 431 from last year's 418. This is an approximately three per cent increase, as approved by RCVS Council and the Privy Council.

Tshidi Gardner, RCVS treasurer, said: "The small fee increase will be used to help deliver both our everyday activities and our new ambitious Strategic Plan, which includes aims such as achieving new legislation, reviewing the Codes of Professional Conduct and supporting guidance, and continuing to support the professions through activities such as the Mind Matters Initiative, RCVS Academy and career development."

A full breakdown of the new fees is on the RCVS website. Information about tax relief is available on the UK government website.
