Product recalled due to lamb sickness
Sheep vets have been warned by officials to report any suspected illness within lambs that have been fed on Frank Wright Trouw Nutrition International's replacers. This comes after three farms reported the formulation had caused reactions consistent with excessive vitamin A.
The symptoms ranged from sweating, dermatitis, urine scald, stiff gait and recumbency. Defra has called on vets and farmers to be alert to these clinical signs and if anyone is concerned they should contact the manufacturer and their regional AHVLA laboratory for more advice.
