"Your BVA, Your Say" Survey Launched
BVA urges members to partake in biggest survey yet

The British Veterinary Association has launched "Your BVA, Your Say" - its biggest member survey to date.

The research aims to measure and evaluate how satisfied BVA members are with the Association, as well as examining what value members place on the BVA's representative role and benefits package.

Throughout June and July, a selection of members will be contacted by the external Research Agency, Research by Design, to take part in in-depth interviews to explore key themes of the research. Practising members and students in their final year at veterinary school will be asked to complete a survey online.

The results will be used to help BVA develop and adapt to better serve its members. President Carl Padgett commented: " Our members are at the heart of everything we do, so it is essential we hear directly what our members think about, and want from, their Association."

He encouraged BVA members to contribute, adding that "this is the chance to really make a difference to the Association."

Current BVA members are urged to check that the Association is in possession of their most up-to-date contact details. Click here to access the member area of the website, or phone the membership team on 020 7908 6350.

RCVS annual renewal fee for vets due

RCVS' annual renewal fee for veterinary surgeons is now due. Vets must pay their renewal fee before Wednesday, 1 April 2026.

This year's standard annual fee has increased to 431 from last year's 418. This is an approximately three per cent increase, as approved by RCVS Council and the Privy Council.

Tshidi Gardner, RCVS treasurer, said: "The small fee increase will be used to help deliver both our everyday activities and our new ambitious Strategic Plan, which includes aims such as achieving new legislation, reviewing the Codes of Professional Conduct and supporting guidance, and continuing to support the professions through activities such as the Mind Matters Initiative, RCVS Academy and career development."

A full breakdown of the new fees is on the RCVS website. Information about tax relief is available on the UK government website.
