Three new working dog breeds
Kennel Club have reclassified three gundogs to working

Three gundog breeds - the Kooikerhonje, Lagotto Romagnolo and Spanish Water Dog - will be reclassified to working from 2014, say the Kennel Club (KC).

The reclassification was made when breed clubs proposed working tests for their dogs, which made it obvious that this was not the work expected of a gundog.

The gundog judges have also been attending working events in order to approve the breeds at CC level. Though non have yet been awarded CCs, the KC have considered that this could happen in the future as a basis for their decision.

Caroline Kisko, a spokesperson for the KC, said: 'We are aware that this decision has caused some consternation within the three breeds and we will listen to individual appeals from the respective breed clubs should they feel that they wish to make one.'

It is expected that the Spanish Water Dog club are to appeal the KC's decision.

New form for online veterinary medicines retailers

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has produced a new online form for retailers wishing to sell veterinary medicines on the internet.

The form replace the previous Word version and is part of the VMD's ongoing commitment to digitise its processes. Anyone retailing prescription medicines online, including POM-V, POM-VPS and NFA-VPS categories, is lawfully required to register with the VMD before trading.

The change only applies to new applicants. Retailers already listed on the VMD's Register of Online Retailers or registered under the Accredited Internet Retailer Scheme (AIRS) do not need to do anything.
