According to an article in the Daily Mail, a 'Blind dog can 'see' again thanks to a set of extra-long plastic whiskers'. A vet in Nottinghamshire has found a novel way to help a blind Staffordshire bull terrier: by fitting long cable ties to its collar. This helps the dog feel its way around, much like extra long whiskers.

According to an article on the BBC, "a dog had to undergo life-saving surgery after eating her own comfort blanket following the death of one of her owners in Brighton." The behaviour is thought to have been caused by grief and stress. Luckily, vets have been able to remove the blanket and she is making a good recovery.
